New Release: Immigrant Song for solo marimba

I recently completed a new work for solo marimba entitled “Immigrant Song”.  It’s been seven years since I composed a piece for 5.0 solo marimba, and this one is extra special for me, as it’s dedicated to my mother, Rosie Trevino. Sheet music is now available.

Below is a video clip of the piece, as well as a full length SoundCloud recording. Hope you enjoy 🙂

I am happy to announce the release of a new marimba solo! "Immigrant Song" is a 5.0 octave solo dedicated to my mother, Rosie Trevino. She was born and raised in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. when she was a teenager. She would have been considered a "low-skilled, non-English speaker" in today's current immigration agenda. In the 30+ years since arriving to the U.S., she's become a small business owner, put me through college, and speaks better English than some of the highest ranking officials in our government. 👀 She is the quintessential American-dream story and I'm so proud of her. I hope you like your song, mamà. It's been seven years since I've composed a solo for 5.0 octave marimba and it feels great to come back with this piece. If any percussionists out there want to play "Immigrant Song", sheet music is now available at (see profile link), where you'll also find a full length SoundCloud recording. Cheers! ✌🏽 . . . #marimba #marimbamonday #percussion #percussionist #percussionista #immigrant #song #mexico #usa #sisepuede 🇲🇽🇺🇸❤️
