Flow was commissioned by Eric Willie, Assistant Professor of Percussion at UNC Greenboro and a major supporter of new works. Eric premiered the piece at PASIC 2013 alongside the Science Hill Percussion Ensemble.

The piece is scored for a percussion soloist who alternates between snare drum and marimba, alongside percussion trio. With Flow, I combine my attraction to indie rock music with some of my other influences, like the snare drum writing of Bob Becker and marimba writing of Alejandro Viñao.
